Popeye’s Spicy Spinach and Ground Beef (Phase 2)

Popeye's Spicy Spinach and Ground Beef recipe is an easy, no-mess meal. It boasts an Asian flair with lots of flavor and is super healthy! Safe for Phase 2, the low-calorie phase of the HCG Diet, it counts as 1 meat serving and 1 vegetable serving.
This recipe calls for Clear Stevia sweetener which can be found on our online store.

- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 3-4 ounces raw baby spinach
- 100 grams 90-93% lean ground beef
- 2 tsp Bragg Liquid Aminos*
- 5 drops clear stevia
- ⅛ tsp ginger
- 1 tbsp Simple Girl Hot Sauce

Heat water in a non-stick skillet.

Add garlic and sauté for a couple minutes.

Add baby spinach and continue to sauté, stirring occasionally, on medium heat until spinach is dark green and wilted.

Remove cooked spinach and put in a separate bowl.

Place ground beef in the skillet and cook over medium heat, crumbling it as you go.

When cooked through, drain off any grease.

In a cup, combine Bragg Aminos, stevia, ginger, and hot sauce and pour over ground beef.

Reduce heat to low, then stir.

Simmer for a couple of minutes to blend the flavors.

Pour ground beef mixture over spinach that was set aside, stir and enjoy!
*We have found that Bragg Liquid Aminos seem to be okay to use while on Phase 2 (the VLCD phase) of the HCG Diet. Calories, carbs, and sugar are all zero. When using Bragg Liquid Aminos, write it down in your daily weight/diet food log you’re using to track your progress. If it has a negative effect on your weight loss, discontinue use.
