If you don’t already know, Dr. Simeons was an Italian doctor in the 60’s who formulated the HCG diet process. He worked with obese patients of all ages for over 20 years to create the perfect formula for the HCG diet to allow maximum weight loss and maintenance. He tried many, many things before releasing only those that worked in his manuscript for other medical professionals to see. However, since the diet was discovered, many people (patient and doctors alike) have made up their own ways to change the diet and make it so it is “easier” for their client/customer to lose weight. This may include allowing foods that weren’t on Dr. Simeons’ original food list or saying it is okay to use normal lotion/beauty products. However, while it may make the diet and beauty routine less strict, these changes can hinder speed of weight loss and also stop the detoxing effect that the HCG diet is supposed to have on your body and your hypothalamus (see Dr. Simeons’ Manuscript for more information on this).

So, all of our products and recommendations will follow the strict Dr. Simeons protocol. In fact, we created many of our products specifically for people who are on Phase 2 also known as the VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) Phase of the Diet or for those on Phase 3 (also known as the Maintenance Phase) of the HCG diet. Furthermore, we are the home of Linda Prinster, Leanne Mennemeier, and Tiffany Prinster, all creators and authors of successful (and helpful) HCG diet books.

While on the HCG Diet, you are not allowed to put anything that has any fats or oils in it onto your skin (EXCEPT baby oil, which makes no sense, but that’s the rule). So, you need to check all of your make up and items such as soap, shampoo, hair products, LOTIONS, and more before you apply to your skin during the VLCD because if they contain any fats or oils, they WILL stall your weight loss OR make you gain. Don’t believe us? Try it yourself. Although, we wouldn’t recommend it as it will only slow you down. :)

HCG Diet Do #1: Check Ingredients

Make sure that all of your personal care items are HCG diet friendly. So look on our HCG diet safe list for hygiene products to get what you need for the HCG diet.

HCG Diet Do #2: Stay Busy

Find an activity that you like to do that doesn’t involve food to keep your mind busy while on HCG.

HCG Diet Do #3: If you're hungry, split up your meals

Be aware that you are allowed to separate your meal, to help ease hunger on the HCG diet. Therefore you get 2 meals and 2 snacks during a day on the HCG diet. The HCG meat servings and HCG vegetables servings must stay together at lunch and dinner time, but the HCG fruit servings and HCG carb servings can be moved around as breakfast or snacks if you need to eat more than 2 times per day.

For example, you may prefer to do this:

  • 9:00am: Apple and Grissini Stick
  • 12:00pm: 100 grams of Chicken, 2 cups of Baby Spinach
  • 3:00pm: 6 Strawberries, and 2 Melba Rounds
  • 6:00pm: 100 grams of Steak, 1 cup diced Tomatoes

HCG Diet Do #4: Get HCG Safe Sweeteners

Dont make a mistake....... Not all stevia is treated equally!

Make sure all your sweeteners are allowed on the HCG diet. As you may already know there are two sweeteners allowed on the HCG diet, stevia and saccharin. Saccharin is artificial and it a known carcinogen, therefore we stick to using all-natural, healthy stevia as the sweetener we recommend for the HCG diet.

The brand of stevia you choose on the HCG diet is also important. Brands such as Stevia in the Raw, Z-sweet, Truvia, etc. are not allowed on HCG phase 2 because they have added 'filler' sweeteners that are not pure stevia. If you want to check your brand of stevia to see if it's safe for the HCG diet look at the ingredients for words Check your stevia for any words ending in -ose, -tol, or -dextrin.

HCG Diet Do #5: Stay Motivated

Measure your progress to help you stay motivated. Track your weight loss by writing it down, or using a tracking app (such as Happy Scale). And take bodily measurements once a week to see how your body is changing. We recommend to record body measurements for the following areas (at least):

  • Chest
  • Waist
  • Hips
  • Thigh
  • Calves
  • Upper Arm
  • Neck

When you have a way to track and measure your weight loss and inches lost if can help you be thankful for how much you lose overall and keep you motivated to keep going.

All HCG meats must be weighed to 3.5 oz/100g BEFORE cooking. They should be weighed raw and have all visible fat trimmed. It is important to cook the meat using no butter, oil, or other form of fat (ie boil, grill, bake, use non-stick cookware, etc.).

HCG Diet Do #9: Weight Daily

WEIGH EVERY MORNING while on HCG P2 at about the same time in about the same clothes and with the same scale.

We recommend weight every morning, as soon as you wake up. Go to the bathroom, and step on the scale. It's important to weigh everyday so you can monitor progress on the HCG diet.
